In the depths of Tethys, a hungry Basilosaurus hunts a giant squid. Although the ancient whale may win this round, in the long term it is the squid who emerges the victor. For Basilosaurus is headed for extinction; the whales of modern oceans are descended from other branches of the family tree - while descendants of the giant squid are still found, relatively unchanged, to this day.
