- Through the Dragon Narrows -

Comments:

"After several days of travelling along the coast, a subtle change in the current indicated an inlet of some kind - at least a bay, perhaps a true passage through to the Western Ocean...

But as the Osprey approached the inlet, the lookout noticed strange rocky outcroppings looming over the strait. On closer approach, the outcroppings took on regular features, looking similar in nature. But no, nature could never have formed these looming monoliths; for as the ship sailed toward the narrows, it became apparent that these formations were gigantic dragons' heads, carved from the living rock - but by whom? From the weathered appearance of the huge carvings, they had been created long ago, and untended for centuries.

What long-forgotten savages had turned their primitive tools to this task - and why? Did their descendants still lurk about these parts?

The crew sailed through the Dragon Narrows, but in spite of the warm sunshine, every man Jack of them felt a cold chill as the statues passed by overhead, and cast apprehensive glances at the seemingly uninhabited shore..."

Updated 2000.11 Added wake, bow wave to ship, made terrain slightly more detailed.
