This one was inspired by an old paperback cover by the legendary Frank Frazetta, for one of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Venus series, perhaps Carson of Venus. I haven't actually seen the book in years - it's probably in a box in my basement somewhere - but the general concept is the same as that cover: dating from those days of yore when fantasists could paint tales of Venus as a tropical waterworld, its seas and jungles teeming with immense reptilian monsters!
This picture features the SeaDragon I used in a previous image, along with 'Massive Mike,' a muscular variant on the Michael figure.
No post-production in this image - all effects achieved using Bryce. Painter was used in the production of some of the Bryce items featured in the image.
