- Ocean Liner Production Renders -

Comments:

It has always been puzzling to me why there are no models of cruise ships available on the net from the usual sources - lots of other vehicles/ships, but few or no Cruise Ships.

Having wanted to use a cruise ship in an image for a while now, I finally set myself the task of building one.

The hardest part to model was the hull itself. I knew that a NURBS surface would be the best way of achieving the hull shape, but I lacked the skill in NURBS modelling. Over the last week or so, I taught myself enough to generate this hull, but it's far from perfect. However, since I didn't intend to use the vessel in close-up work, it was sufficient for now. (I still intend to go back and create better hulls, though!)

The superstructure of the ship was built in RayDream and Bryce. A little boolean work on the hull, some portholes and decks, an anchor, and away we go!
