Comments:

Well, before it gets too stale, I thought I would post my entries in the Spring 2002 contest at DAZ 3D, "Michael 2: Man of Morphs."

Unfortunately, the timing of this contest was such that it happened around the time my mother was fighting her final battle. Needless to say, my attention was primarily focused 'elsewhere'... As a result, I didn't put as much effort into them as I otherwise might have. Furthermore, I admit I was unclear as to the exact rules of the contest i.e. whether entrants were free to use 'custom' morphs, or only the extensive set that ship with the Michael model. I opted for the conservative route, and used only the included morphs and dials.

Nonetheless, the variablility imparted by the 'standard' dials is impressive. Every male shown in these images (including the non-humans in the third image) is a variant of Michael 2.

Some are fit, healthy, and 'idealized' (the central figure in the top image and the pair of 'Marine' types in the middle image). But Michael can also be morphed into other body shapes (the solidly-built fellow in the background of the top image, the slender guy at the museum...) and even stretched into extreme types (the 'exhibits' at the museum).

And, now that the contest is over, I freely admit that my entries pale into utter insignificance compared to the other entries on display; not only the winners, but also the other gallery images. It further highlights the versatility of this remarkable model...

And, for the record, the top image was composed and rendered in Vue d'Esprit 4;

The middle image was composed and rendered within Poser (Pro Pack);

The bottom image was composed and rendered in Bryce 5, although the 'mural' on the wall was composed and rendered in Vue d'Esprit 4.

By all means, check out the full contest gallery yourself, at DAZ - (if it's still there,) it's called the 'M2 Contest Gallery'...
