I cycled home, excited to have caught the majesty of the Empress of the Skies in my camera. As I crossed over the Don Valley Parkway, I noticed that not one, but two of the Empress fleet were in town for the promotion, and were circling the downtown core. Out came the camera again! Fortunately, the motorists on the freeway below didn't pay too much attention... at least, I didn't hear about any accidents that day!
These images were composed back in August of 2001, a couple of weeks before the events of 9-11. Suddenly, it seemed insensitive to post them. Now that the skies are once again full of normal commercial air traffic, it may be OK to dust them off...The image features my Bryce 5 metaball Luxury Liner, composited over a skyline captured by my digital camera, with considerable use of Photopaint's layers (objects).
