...So, I turned around and went back downtown, hoping to catch one last glimpse of the Empress fleet before they left. Sure enough, they circled the downtown core once more. I wasn't sure, but it seemed that perhaps they had been using the CN Tower as a mooring and/or boarding tower. At over 1800 feet tall, certainly it was the only place around that could have fulfilled such a function.
These images were composed back in August of 2001, a couple of weeks before the events of 9-11. Suddenly, it seemed insensitive to post them. Now that the skies are once again full of normal commercial air traffic, it may be OK to dust them off...The image features my Bryce 5 metaball Luxury Liner, composited over a skyline captured by my digital camera, with considerable use of Photopaint's layers (objects).
