Another use of the fine Enterprise-A mesh produced by the now-reclusive Eric Peterson, and converted to Bryce-compatible Lightwave format by Andrew Marrs. As mentioned previously, I worked extensively on the lights on this 'bryce-ified' version.
But the true raison d'être of this image was as a test of the excellent Earth map available as a Bryce preset from Wolfie (see below). As with actual photos of Earth from space, the oceans reflect more sunlight than the landforms, and this map reflects that (if you'll pardon the pun!). I worked on the cloud map in Painter, using the Earth texture as a guide for positioning of the main weather systems - clearly the eastern seaboard of the USA is getting buffeted by a major hurricane, while Toronto basks in sunshine!
