- Run, JarJar, Run! (Take 2) -

Comments:

So - Mr. Lucas has been quite adamant that fandom be damned, JarJar will NOT die in the next Star Wars movie; so all those pleasant torture daydreams we've been envisioning must stay as simple fantasies - at least until JarJar's life no longer intersects with events surrounding the Ascension of Palpatine and the Rise of the Empire...

Regardless of how Mr. Lucas writes history, the following is an excerpt from a paper recently discovered in the New Republic Archives on Coruscant:

...it is clear that the Gungan JarJar Binks no longer played an active role in the Rebellion (if indeed he was ever anything but a meddling observer) by the time of the creation of the DeathStar and its destruction at Yavin 4 (the year "0 A.B.Y" as it is known by the New Republic chronology, "After the Battle of Yavin"). However, there are tantalizing historical documents supporting the view that JarJar was maintaining a remote watch on the lost children of Anakin and Amidala, possibly through contact with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine. Rumours of his surveillance persist until about 3 A.B.Y., following which there is no record or rumour of him whatsoever.

The year 3 A.B.Y., as all students learn in history class, was significant for the Battle of Hoth; which also represented the first time that Luke and Leia had spent an extended time together in one place. This author surmises that JarJar travelled to Hoth to find them, perhaps to disclose the secret of their heritage. Unfortunately, it appears that the hapless Gungan arrived at the same time as the Imperial forces, and it is certainly obvious that he never delivered his message to the twins, who apparently were never even aware of his existence, let alone his relationship with their parents.

After painstaking review of hours of footage of the pitched battle, this author was thrilled to find his hypothesis proven! An enhanced frame from recordings of the battle shows the fate of JarJar beyond any doubt. His final resting place - Imperial Walker toe-jam, a brown stain on the footpad of an Imperial AT-AT.
